LittleAdams Peak
Located very close to the town centre, Little Adam’s Peak is one of the more popular mountains in Ella. Although it doesn’t necessarily pose a significant challenge to hikers, as the trail is not too difficult, the view from the summit is considered to be rather spectacular.
What to Expect
The trail to the summit of the mountain can be easily located, as it is just a kilometre away from the town centre. Walk through the green gates and you will arrive at a concrete stairway. The hike to the summit is relatively easy, however, be warned that the trail can get quite crowded. The peak is 1141m in height and can generally be reached in about an hour. The trail will take you through lush green Ceylon Tea plantations where you could also catch a glimpse of tea pluckers at work.
Once you reach the summit, you will be met with glorious views of sprawling vistas of the hill-country, especially the Ella Gap, Ella Rock, and Ravana Ella (waterfall).
❂ Useful Tips:
- Bring along a bottle of water and carry snacks, especially if you are travelling with kids.
- The ideal time to climb is early morning.
