Kanneliya Rainforest
Kanneliya is a rainforest reserve in the southern province of Sri Lanka, located about 35km northwest of the city of Galle. The forest is home to many endemic plant and animal species of lowland Sri Lanka. Kanneliya is home to over 300 woody plants and over 200 known species of fauna including mammals, fish, birds and reptiles.
The forest contains many picturesque streams and waterfalls, of which the most popular are the Anagimale Falls and Narangas Ella. Another attraction of the forest is a giant twisted creeper, which is almost the height of a man. Visit the Forest Department Centre within the jungle to gain access to visit the forest reserve.
